Ring knot florets

Applique work

These beautiful hand embroidered florets are attached as appliqué work on the blouse. The florets are done with an intricate ring knot hand embroidery technique called the challa work. Do the black lines in thin chain stitches.

Method

Fold the magenta cotton silk fabric separately for the front and back sides. Mark the measurements with an extra 2 inches at the ends and cut the fabric. Similarly, cut the lining cloth as well. Stitch these by leaving the sides open. For the sleeves, fold the fabric as shown in the picture and cut. Cut the green cotton silk fabric in one and half inches width and length as required. Stitch these on to the sleeves as frills. After stitching the blouse, attach the appliqué work on the backside by folding its edges to the inside.

Tip

Highlight the neckline and sleeves using green color thread that matches the appliqué work.
